Frequently asked questions

Are silk bookmarks waterproof?
Silk bookmarks are water resistant, but not waterproof. This means the cards stand up well when they come in contact with a small amount of water, but cannot be submerged in water without water seeping into the card and causing damage. Please test your specific application to ensure the cards are appropriate for that use.
If product was sent to reprint, how many days would it realistically take to complete?
All reprints are put in the next available batch. Most items are reprinted with a next-day turnaround time or 2 - 4 business days, depending on the run size and the item itself.
Is silk a coating or a laminate?

The silk effect is a laminate with several coating options including:

i. silk laminated

ii. silk laminated with spot UV on both sides

iii. silk laminated with spot UV on front only

iv. silk laminated with spot UV on back only

How do I set up my file for bookmarks?

a. Bleed must extend past the cut line and will be trimmed from the product during the final cutting phase. When the image is required to extend all the way to the edge, bleed is needed to preserve the finished look and the quality of the final product.

b. Please keep all text at least 0.125" inside the cut line.

c. The bleed for standard products is 0.125”.

d. Color mode is CYMK

e. The recommended file type is PDF — JPG, EPS, and TFF are also acceptable.
